Over the course of an hour, they walk your group through the dance’s distinctive technique: the upright carriage of the torso, the percussive footwork, the sharp turns of the wrist, and the rhythmic beat — called compás — that holds everything together. It’s physical, it’s fun, and it doesn't matter whether you've danced before. What matters is that by the end, flamenco has moved from something you see to something you feel. After your dance masterclass, settle into your reserved section of the theater, with an open bar serving wine, cava, sangria, beer, and nonalcoholic options. Then the lights go down. The show features a rotating cast of performers: dancers, a guitarist, and vocalists whose voices carry the raw emotion that defines cante jondo, the deep song tradition at the core of flamenco.
